Marin County supervisors recently set aside $500,000 to help Marin Foster Care Association purchase a 10-unit apartment building in Novato to house youths aging out of the foster care system. “This project is critical for our transition-age foster youth who routinely struggle to find housing in Marin when they age out of care,” says Ashley Hurd, executive director of Marin Foster Care Association. “This project also benefits the county as a whole, because it permanently preserves these apartments as affordable units.”
